WHO WOULD'VE BELIEVED THAT ?
Well chosen, the sushi makis are a nutritional gold mine.
Poorly chosen, they can put your line at risk.
Follow our tips to get the most benefit.
1 Ask for sesame seeds on
your California rolls. They are rich in magnesium, good for the brain.
Another judicious "decoration", smelt eggs (masago), source
additional omega-3.
2 For maximum protein
and a minimum of fat, choose the following sushi:
octopus (tako), albacore tuna (maguro), shrimp (amaebi) and clam (hokkigai).
For omega-3s, do not forget the salmon, but in reasonable quantities.
3 Ask the chef if he makes his makis with real crab and not
surimi.
This pale imitation contains half the protein, and virtually no omega-3.
It will be more expensive, but really better.
